Echoes of the Mountains is a memoir dedicated to whom Pindiwe calls “The Unspoken Champions”, those who suffered and contributed to the liberation of our beautiful country in one way or the other or by just being alive in the darkest period of our beautiful land.

Being the last born in a family of seven children, Pindiwe experienced all her siblings either leaving South Africa or while those who remained were in and out of prison including, Robben Island. The last to leave was her parents, who made Lesotho their temporary home during the difficult times of the struggle.

In her book, she tells the story of her parents and how her family was separated from each other. She shares how her family sacrificed their lives to join the struggle against Apartheid.

She shares her personal experiences with prominent political influencers, her thoughts on freedom and what she believes still needs to happen for a better South Africa. She expresses the emotional and psychological impact of the struggle and how she is still healing from the loss of several family members.
